On 19 and 20 May, the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT) hosted the transnational meeting of the Erasmus+ project T-TalenTech: Multidisciplinary Skills for ICT Professionals (2025-1-NO01-KA220-VET-000351888), bringing together representatives of the consortium partner organisations for two days of collaborative work, strategic planning, and knowledge exchange.
The main objective of this meeting was to mark the launch of Work Package 3 (WP3), which is coordinated by the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar. This work package plays a central role in the T-TalentTech project, contributing to the goal of harmonising the development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills across Europe and ensuring their relevance to the needs of a rapidly evolving digital sector.
WP3 aims to analyse and integrate existing ICT competence frameworks, namely the European e-Competence Framework (e-CF) and the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA), promoting a coherent and transnational approach to the development of T-Shaped skills. These skills combine deep technical expertise in a specific area with transversal and interpersonal competences that are increasingly valued in today’s labour market.
By defining the technical, transversal, and behavioural competences required for different ICT professional profiles, WP3 seeks to contribute to the development of professionals who are better prepared to address the challenges of digital transformation. In this way, the project strengthens the objective of supporting the creation of a more qualified, flexible, and digitally skilled European workforce, aligned with the demands of the digital economy.
In addition to the working sessions, participants also had the opportunity to explore the region’s cultural heritage through a visit to the Convent of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as other historical and cultural landmarks in the city of Tomar. This initiative fostered interaction among partners in an informal setting, further reinforcing the European and collaborative dimension of the T-TalentTech project.
The IPT was represented at the event by the Vice-President of IPT, Dr Célio Marques, as well as by LIED members Paulo Santos, António Manso, and Ana Almeida.
